Ένας φίλος από πολύ μακριά μας έστειλε αυτό το ποίημα, εμπνευσμένο από τον Τουρλίτη. Νομίζω ότι αξίξει αναρτηθεί εδώ…
A friend from far-far away has sent us this poem, inspired by a lighthouse called "Tourlitis". I believe it belongs here...
Alone you keep silent vigil
never resting through the night.
Protecting the fearful
with your faithful guiding light.
Night and day
with no word to say.
Salt and foam
this rock your home.
When the winter sun pales
Before the approaching southern gales
And the driving rain assails
you stand firm
With no reward for the lives you save
From the fury of wind and wave
Resolute and brave
you stand tall
While over the seas I roam
you always stay to do your duty.
So when I return to home
you welcome me with your beauty.
Andrew
